PBC Services, Inc. is a small business based in Houma, Louisiana and operating in multiple locations along the major river systems of the US. We provide barge unloading services for customers moving dry, bulk powdered products including cement.
We look for employees who have a strong work ethic, who prioritize safety daily, and who have the desire to learn. We hire operator trainees primarily as we believe in building our employees up through on-the-job experience. We also hire experienced candidates to fill our service technician and lead operator roles.
Specialized experience in the following preferred but not required:

Stevedoring

Heavy Equipment operator

Pneumatic systems technician

Hydraulics technician

Mechanical technician

Electrical technician
Minimum qualifications include:

Reliability - you must have the ability to work a minimum of 40 hours/week, with OT as needed, in accordance with a standard work schedule as defined by the Lead on location. We typically work Monday - Friday but we may work weekends as well depending on customer needs.

Ability to lift heavy objects without machine assistance (occasionally 50-75 pounds)

Ability to work outdoors (including working in inclement weather such as extreme heat, cold, rain, snow, etc.)

Willingness to learn - we operate heavy equipment including but not limited to cranes, skid steers/front end loaders, and an articulating remote-control arm. Experience is not required but preferred.

Equipment maintenance - we expect all operations employees to learn the maintenance processes for our equipment on location. Employees are required to complete regular equipment maintenance as per company guidelines. Experience in equipment maintenance is not required but preferred.
Employees are eligible to participate in group benefits after 60 days of employment.
